About Claisebrook Cove

Planning

Once an application for development within the New Northbridge project has been lodged, a preliminary assessment is undertaken by the East Perth Redevelopment Authority. This assessment checks that all relevant information has been provided (as detailed in the Development Application Checklist) so that a full planning assessment can commence. Applicants will receive an acknowledgement letter via post confirming the proposal has been received and requesting any further information, if required.

As outlined by the East Perth Redevelopment Act, the proposal may be referred to the City of Perth and other related Government agencies.

Independent architectural, environmental, heritage and engineering advice may also be sought for sites of importance within the 42-day comment period. Concurrently, the assessment of the proposal will be undertaken.

A proposal will be considered and finalised once the requested agencies/organisations have provided their comments. The East Perth Redevelopment Authority features three decision-making processes and, depending on the significance of the proposal, it may be determined by the CEO, Planning Committee or Board.

The Authority has a 60-day statutory timeframe in which to determine most development proposals.

Normalisation

The normalisation process involves returning planning control measures to the local council, in this case the City of Perth. All planning enquiries or proposals for areas within the normalised areas should now be directed to the City of Perth.

Areas that have been normalised can be identified in the following plan.
