Vision & Objectives

China Green will transform the former Australian Fine China (AFC) site from derelict industrial land into a vibrant and sustainable inner-city community. The name China Green reflects the Subiaco Redevelopment Authority's (SRA) vision of capturing the site’s history, heritage, high sustainability standards and linkages with the surrounding community and the Subi Centro Green Spine.

China Green’s objectives include:

• To set a new benchmark for sustainable development, defining performance requirements;
• To improve economic, social and environmental outcomes within the Subi Centro context;
• To engage key stakeholders and the community;
• To demonstrate that best practice sustainable development and profitability are not mutually exclusive;
• To achieve defined targets that balance economic, environmental and social considerations; and
• To create a strong sense of place through the development of a new community and interpretation of the site’s heritage values.
